Anoushka Shankar Anoushka Shankar, an Indian-born British American artist and a sitarist, is most well-known for her musical talents. She is the youngest female and the first to be awarded an official British House of Commons shield. Anoushka Shakar is a promising young emerging star on the Indian Sitar, is Anoushka. She is Ravi Shankar's pupil as well as his daughter. She was born in London in 1982. During her first years she split her time between London New Delhi. At the age of 13 when her first performance in New Delhi took place. In 1999, she completed her high schooling in Encinitas CA. Anouskha is still a young woman, nevertheless, she has an remarkable career in the field of singing and recording. She often joins her father on stage, which she has been doing for several years. She released her first solo album Anourag in the year 1998. In 2002, she released her Grammy Nominated Live At Carnegie Hall. She has appeared at many major venues around the globe. Anoushka's career goes beyond the realm of music. Bapi The Love of My Live is her 2002 novel, and is a tribute to Ravi Shankar. She's also appeared in. in the 2003 movie Dance Like a Man, where she played a Bharat dancer in the form of a young girl. The career of Anoushka Shankar is in the process of developing and she will continue to do many great things in the near future. Anoushka is a native of England and spent a lot of her childhood between London and Delhi. After that, she relocated to California and went to the high school there. Anoushka started her music studies at the age of nine. Four years later, she made her appearance on the sitar in Delhi during her father's 75th birthday celebration. Anoushka has gained lots of experience touring the world along with the father. She performed in Carnegie Hall in her teenage years, and recorded at George Harrison's WOMAD Festival. She was the first woman to be awarded the House of Commons Shield, given by the British Parliament in recognition of her musicianship and artistry within the Asian Arts.
