Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman teaches psychology at the University of California Davis. She is also the head of the Center for Public Policy Research. Her name is well-known as the pioneer of modern-day scientific research of eyewitness accounts from children's memories and the use of child victims in court contexts. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer who has received many prizes and grants. She has provided consulting on research and policy to many agencies and departments from all over the world. She serves as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center, formerly the Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a part of many professional organizations including The Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology-Law Society Psychology of Traumatic Stress and Women 56). Professor Goodman is part of Psychonomics Society, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children as a founding member, International Society for the prevention of child abuse and Neglect as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was director of 3 divisions (Division Society for Policy and Child Development as well as Practice Division of the American Psychology-Law Society as well as Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
